From Buttington Bridge to Llanymynech

This leg takes you along River Severn with the Breidden Hills across the water for company. Some named this section 'The Dull Bit', but that´s unfair.
Okay, there are no spectacular ups and downs today, but the going on small towpaths alongside tranquil Severn has a charm of its own and leaves you time to let your mind wander and meditate on Welsh beauty and history. The Dyke and the surrounding hills are never far away ... For whom today´s walk was not demanding enough a rewarding walk to Welshpool and Powis Castle is included in the description of this section of Offa´s Dyke as well as a circular route using the Montgomery Canal (which, with 11.5 miles in length, would require another day to go).
