From Braubach to Oberlahnstein

The short stage rounds off your walk along the World Cultural Heritage Site of the Upper Central Rhine Valley. The way leads you more and more away from the Rhine, finally ending at the banks of the river Lahn, which flows into the Rhine at Lahnstein.

A way up to the health resort

Passing remains of the local mining history, a first climb with good views of Marksburg castle leads uphill to the plateau of the Kerkertser Platte. The Rheinsteig trail continues with several rocky stretches over the hills and through small valleys, before it reaches a park in the health resort of Lahnstein, which is located on the hills above the town.

Take a rest at Lahneck castle?

Having arrived at the river Lahn, where the stage ends after a last descent, there is the opportunity to walk back to the Rhine and to Oberlahnstein along the banks of the river Lahn. Your rewards will be the view of nice Lahneck castle and a stop at the famous Inn called "Wirtshaus an der Lahn”.
