From Neustadt to Oberhof
This fourth stage leads also mostly through woodland though this too is punctuated by the occasional scenic viewpoint. At the beginning of this stage - from Neustadt to Schmücke - The Rennsteig splits into two tracks, one on either side of a road. The last part of this stage goes over open moorland.
