From Eichstätt to Kipfenberg
This scenic route travels further along Altmühl and is extremely varied, going up and downhill. It leads through a forest, countryside and wilderness. There are plenty of opportunities to admire the beauty of nature, however you will also encounter signs of human settlements in this region.
Juniper wilderness of Gungolding is a particular attraction, and further on the view of Altmühl from Arnsberg hill. Before Kipfenberg the path passes the remains of Roman defence embankment and a reconstructed Roman watchtower.
